Теннисистка Серена Уильямс подверглась жесткой критике во время своего выступления на Открытом чемпионате Франции по теннису. Организаторы запретили спортсменке выходить на корт в следующем году в черном костюме от Nike.
Как сообщает ESPN, президент Французской федерации тенниса Бернар Гьюдичелли заявил, что на турнире French Open введут дресс-код. Это связано с появлением Серены Уильямс на корте в облегающем комбинезоне черного цвета в стиле Женщины-кошки. По мнению Гьюдичелли, такой внешний вид не приемлем и нужно иметь уважение к игре и месту ее проведения. Отныне организаторы турнира будут проверять форму спортсменов перед выступлением, чтобы та соответствовала новому дресс-коду. Однако правила не будут такими строгими, как на Уимблдоне, где допускается исключительно белый тотал-лук.
Впервые в новом костюме Серена появилась на публике в мае, после рождения дочери. Теннисистка заявила, что чувствует себя воином в такой форме, воинствующей принцессой из Ваканды (выдуманная страна из фильма "Черная пантера". — Buro 24/7). "Я всегда живу в каком-то выдуманном мире и хотела быть супергероем. Так что я себя чувствую в своем роде супергероем в этом костюме", — поделилась Уильямс.

Just ridiculous. Serena has done nothing BUT respect the game. Serena Williams is almost always singled out in tennis. This comes down to what they feel is “acceptable” on a tennis court. It’s not her job to make you feel comfortable.
